Panel Discussion

„Challenges of Digital Inequality“

Despite the promise of digital technologies to facilitate democratic processes, ease access to education, and contribute to more flexibility at the workplace, the issues of social inequality all around the world are more pressing than ever. In response, multiple stakeholders voice their concerns, calling for a nuanced understanding of how inequality can be affected by the ubiquitous use of digital technologies across all walks of human life. Indeed, the question arises if digital technologies amplify existing inequalities or help mitigate them? In which areas are the risks particularly pronounced, and how can they be managed? Addressing these issues and finding solutions to these challenges is a primary goal of the panel.
